What is Leadership Northern Colorado?

A joint initiative of the Fort Collins, Greeley and Loveland Chambers of Commerce, the Community Foundation of Northern Colorado and the Weld Community Foundation, this six-month interactive development program will focus on regional issues, regionalism and regional leadership skills.  The program is designed to educate and motivate leaders who are committed to shaping the future of our region. 

Who was selected for the first class?

Thirty current and emerging leaders were selected to participate in the 2010 Leadership Northern Colorado program.  The group is a diverse mix of professions with representative from education, large and small business, not for profit and county office. 

Leadership Northern Colorado, a joint initiative of the Fort Collins, Greeley and Loveland Chambers of Commerce, the Community Foundation of Northern Colorado and the Community Foundation Serving Greeley and Weld County, is designed to build human capacity and to identify, define and address the issues facing the Northern Colorado region.

“The selection committee had a tremendous task when they were asked to select our inaugural class.  We had 55 fantastic applications for the program and as a result, have an outstanding class,” said David L. May, president & CEO of the Fort Collins Area Chamber and program chair.

What does the program look like?

  • Six-month program – January to June
  • Fourth Tuesday of each month, 7:30 a.m. – 4 p.m.
  • Classroom and tour-based instruction

How much will the program cost?

  • Tuition: $900, includes all meals, sessions materials and graduation recognition

Who Should Apply?

As Leadership Northern Colorado functions as an extension of local Leadership programs, graduates of Leadership Fort Collins, Leadership Loveland, and Leadership Weld County are encouraged to apply. In addition, individuals who are leaders within their own organizations, and who desire to make a long-term impact on the region, should also apply.

How many people will be selected to participate?

Only 30 individuals will be selected to participate during each program year.
